Originally from Canada, I moved to the Central Valley in 1996 with my now husband Kenny. We have been married for 20 years and have 5 children together. I have always known I wanted to be a mother, and being blessed with these 5 children has been beyond my wildest dreams. What I didn’t know was that becoming a mother was so much more than giving birth!

I was extremely blessed to have an amazing mentor help me along this path, which was indispensable. Although I was fortunate to have guidance along this journey of becoming a mother, I knew not all women have this in their lives. This is where my passion to learn how to become a resource for other women was born. I started by becoming a volunteer with La Leche League International as one of their Leaders; with this work I learned so many aspects of the breastfeeding relationship and navigating the obstacles that can come along for the nursing couple. This was followed shortly after by facilitating a weekly Mom-to-Mom support group through a local hospital, that was open to all mothers of the community.

Time spent with mothers from all different backgrounds taught me that the desire for support is universal. Working with mothers this way was so incredibly enjoyable that when a close friend and long time Doula suggested that I may enjoy Doula work, I was excited at the opportunity to work with families even before their babies had arrived! I began my training in 2012 and attended my first birth in 2013! I have since also trained to be a Postpartum Doula and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. It has been such a honor to serve our area families in this way ever since!
