My role as a doula is to support and encourage the intimate experience of a birthing woman and her support person, through sharing evidence based information, physical and emotional support. I believe in supporting parents in decision making about choices for their pregnancies and births, while demystifying (through education) the complex yet quite normal process of labor and birth.

My husband and I live in Tollhouse where we raised our three now grown children, and continue to enjoy our small community in the Fresno foothills. I am a certified birth and postpartum doula, and childbirth educator, serving families in Fresno/ Clovis, and the surrounding foothill communities.

My journey to birth work began with my own pregnancy and birth experiences. It was through giving birth that I learned the courage, strength and surrender that it takes to be a mother. Each of my birth experiences were as unique and individual as each child that was born. These
lessons helped me immeasurably through parenting, and taught me that each birth is a new birth, a new opportunity, a new experience (much like parenting)!

I will forever be thankful to my strong support teams (midwives, doulas, and my family) who believed in me and helped me through my own birth experiences. Filled with gratitude for what I had received, it wasn’t long after my own births that I started providing labor support for friends
and family both in the home, and hospital settings.

I have enjoyed studying all things pregnancy/birth related, learning from varied practitioners, and from pregnant and birthing women. In 2015, I attended a DONA International doula certification training, then continued my formal educational path through Fresno Birth and Baby.
I love working with families through their pregnancies and births, and am thrilled to be moving forward in a partnership role with Fresno Birth and Baby!
