My name is Kassy. I am a wife, a mother of two, a photographer, and a doula.

I am a Fresno/Clovis native and have been married to my wonderful husband, Eric for 12 years. We are blessed with 2 children and love adventuring with them.

I knew that I always wanted to support families as they welcome their babies. I became a CMA (certified Medical Assistant) and Phlebotomist in 2011. Pregnancy and birth were not at ALL what I expected! I had a high-risk first  pregnancy and delivery that left me feeling like there had to be more to birth than fear. For the birth of my second child I had a doula, and what a world of difference it made! I still had a high-risk pregnancy, but I was educated, supported, empowered, and could better advocate for myself and my baby. My births were very similar, but how I feel about them is very different. I experienced the value of having unwavering support, and knew that I had found my second calling (after motherhood).

Since completing my DONA training in 2016, I have supported over 70 wonderful families. It is my passion to come alongside families so they may have birth experiences in which they feel supported, educated and empowered; no matter how their babies are born. I believe that having the knowledge to make informed choices in birth shapes who you will be as a parent. I believe that bringing a new baby into your family and becoming a parent is a tender, transformative time and I aim to provide the support needed to ease that transition. No matter how much time passes, you will always remember the way you feel about your birth.

In 2021 Fresno Birth & Baby felt called to begin our Doula Training Program. It has been such a beautiful journey training and supporting such incredible women as they sharpen their skills to support countless families in our community.

We were never meant to walk this road of birth and parenting alone. Let’s bring COMMUNITY back to birth!
