I was born and raised in the Fresno / Clovis area. Like many Valley residents I left for a season, but returned to my roots. I have lived abroad, traveled extensively, pursued further education, and become a mother to 4 amazing boys! I have been through infertility, adoption, difficult pregnancies, complicated births, miscarriage, and the loneliness of early parenthood. The key to surviving all of this has been finding the right support.

As a young woman, I knew I wanted to pursue a career caring for birthing families. I began working for Community Hospitals in 2000 and quickly transferred to Labor & Delivery at Clovis Community. As an Obstetric Tech, I helped hundreds of local families with the birth of their babies, but I was shocked to see many families who were under-educated, under-prepared, and under-supported during one of the most important moments in their lives.

I began to look into ways to help families have a better birth, which led me to look in to doula work. I went to my first training with Doula Trainings International (DTI), and knew that this was precisely what I needed to be doing! Doulas don’t just help families become educated about their birth, we get to walk alongside birthing families offering physical, emotional, and educational support! I have been privileged to support over 100 families as their doula! I am so thankful that I have a passion that is also my job!
